My Story

I feel like taking a trip down memory lane,
Review the things that used to be my pain,
And how it all turned out to be for my gain,
Read along as I explain.


Have you ever given your all to something,
And everything you gave amounted to nothing?
Have you ever tried so hard,
And still failed despite giving all you had?
For me, the harder I worked,
The more I sucked.
Other people saw me as a hero,
But I knew I was a zero.
I provided answers for many people,
But couldn't figure mine out, no matter how simple.
I cried day and night,
Praying that everything will be alright.
If you have never been there,
You just won't understand what I'm saying here.


But through my challenge and struggle,
I have learnt to be humble,
The season of pain is over now,
God did it and I don't need to know how.
Take a good look at me from head to toe,
I am no more that failure they used to know.
Take a look at my face,
You'd see an emblem of grace.
Look into my eyes,
And see how I continue to rise.
I have faced adversity,
And it has made me bold.
I have been through the fire,
And have come out as fine as Gold.
I assure you that all your challenges of today,
Are only for short while and not here to stay.
This is my story,
And I give God all the glory.

Got You Like You Got Me

Still only the first hour on the clock.
You showed up and got me in a huge shock.
I froze with little or no movement.
It was as if the earth was paused for that moment.
You completely swept me off my feet,
I almost passed out at the rate my heart beat.
I was blown away and simply speechless,
I totally lost touch of my environment and was senseless.
I felt like I was being overpowered by a strong force,
Riding over me as if I'm a horse.
I think I'm under some spell,
You did cast your spell on me perfectly well.
That even till now I have not been able to recover.
But I don't mind, as long as I end up as your lover.


You laughed and said that you got me,
But I also got you like you got me.
I saw your eyes light up with a spark,
So bright, I could still see in the dark.
I listened well to how your tone sounded,
And I realized you and I had already bonded.
Your body language told me so much,
About how both of our hearts were getting in touch.
You were genuinely happy and excited,
And kept looking at me captivated.
Your nerves got the best of you,
You know you can't deny, it's true.
My charm got you,
Just like yours got me.


We both felt the connection,
We both got the attraction,
We both had the passion,
We both experienced the obsession,
We both wanted to hold each other,
We both found ourselves keep hugging each other.
It is mutual,
It is all natural.

That Special Feeling

I was waiting for that special feeling,
I was expecting that feeling they say is thrilling,
I have watched movies and heard stories about it,
How that first glance should sweep you off your feet,
And the shocking sensation that travels through your body,
The very first time you see that special lady.
How you would stare with your mouth opened wide,
And travel immediately on an unconscious fantasy ride.
That special feeling that can’t be accurately described,
At the first sight of the woman of your desire.


I thought it was gonna be love at first sight,
That there should be something special to make it right,
Like and electric current passing through my system,
Or very cold water flowing through my veins.
I lived my life waiting for that special sign,
The sign that will indicate the girl that is mine.
I kept looking out and waiting for that day,
The day a woman will take my breath away.
When my heart will be melted in just a second,
And my life will be transformed from that minute.


Women of different shapes & sizes have passed me by,
But there’s still no special sign, and I wondered why.
How long would I have to wait to get that rush?
Is it a sign of true love or just a momentary crush?
Maybe this feeling thing is just simply overrated,
Or maybe I am just different from every other person,
Because I felt no special feeling when I first saw her,
And gradually, I started developing mad love for her.
My love for her kept growing stronger and stronger,
And finally, I get to experience that special feeling.

When it’s all over

There is a time for everything in life,
And a season for every purpose on earth.
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time to build, and a time to pull down,
A time to stay, and a time to leave,
A time to start, and a time to finish.
Every good thing they say, comes to an end,
So is your position with me as my girlfriend.


I know you never saw this coming,
But it’s someone else my heart is now calling.
Now its time to go, so I came to say good bye,
Baby please I beg you in love’s name not to cry.
Don’t cry because it is now over,
But rejoice because it happened.
I hurt as those tears drop down from your eyes,
I’m sorry! If I broke your heart, I sincerely apologize.


I will always remember the time I spent with you,
And the beautiful moments I shared with you.
I know I promised to forever stay with you,
Put a ring on your finger & proposed to you.
But it’s a pity; I won’t be able to keep that vow,
Not that I don’t want to; but things have changed now.
You will always have a special place in my heart,
But right now, I’m afraid its time to part.


I thank you for your love and commitment over the years,
I thank you for sharing with me in my laughter & my tears.
All the sweet memories will be the souvenir I’ll take wit me,
I pray you find someone else, someone better than me.
Someone who will treat you like the Queen that you are,
Because I honestly believe you deserve nothing but the best.
It’s with sadness and tears in my eyes that I walk away,
Knowing that we’ll meet again in joy on another day.
