Another Chance

Opportunity they say only comes but once,
True, but not for the truly repentant ones.
Another opportunity is the chance we plead,
To correct all the previous wrongs we did.
A second chance is what we claim to need,
In order to sow a new and better seed.


Yesterday's errors have already been done.
Unlike the computer, life's mistakes can't be undone.
Worrying over what could have been is never fun.
The pain of regret hurts like the shot of a gun.
It always gets to one, no matter how fast he can run.
Take a second chance; I can hear God offering you one.


As long as there is life, there is always another chance,
A chance to turn the guilt and shame into a joyful dance.
A chance to let go of the tormenting pain,
And turn the pain of regrets into a positive gain.
A chance to erase every bad record and stain,
A chance of a new beginning to start all over again.


There is no past so dark that can't produce a future that is bright.
There is no one so bad that can never do something right.
There is no vile sinner that can't be saved,
There is no sin too big that can't be forgiven.
There is no one so lost in life that can't be found.
But how shall be continue in sin and expect grace to abound?


Thank God for another chance to make things better,
For the chance to make right an experience that was bitter.
Your past may have been so rough and messy,
But thank God for his ever enduring mercy.
People might have called you a shame and a total disgrace.
But you just thank God for another chance through his saving grace.
