Whoever It Fits

There is an old wise saying,
That one man's meat is another man's poison.
Meaning that what works for one man,
Doesn't necessarily have to work for the other.
Because I do hate something,
Shouldn't make you hate the same thing.
Because someone is your enemy,
Doesn't automatically make them my enemy.
Every matured person should have a mind of his own,
And is expected to make decisions as one who is full-grown.
Even though I call you my best friend,
Our tastes and desires don't always have to blend.
Although a set of twins were born on the same day,
Their journeys through life don't always take the same way.
What isn't good for you, still might be good for me,
You don't have to deprive me of it, let me be.
Why shouldn’t I be able to have it, if you don't want it?
Whoever the hat fits, Let him wear it.


There is another old wise saying,
That one man's trash, is another man's treasure,
Don't deprive yourself good, because of another person's pressure
You shouldn't displease yourself, just for a selfish friend's pleasure.
Because you refused and bluntly said No,
Doesn't mean I also have to say so.
Because you claim you don't feel a thing,
Doesn't mean I can't feel something.
Everyone has his or her own life to live,
Living to please someone else will only make you grieve.
After all, you are not even blood-related,
So there is no need to make a minor issue complicated.
Some people say," if I don't, then they shouldn't",
Don’t be deceived, it’s not love, it’s selfishness and envy.
What might not look right to you, might just be right for me,
Don't discourage me because we differ in what we see.
If you don't want it, then I won't mind having it.
Whoever the shoe fits, Let him wear it.
