The New and Improved Me

While others were kissing and romancing,
I was there thinking and reminiscing.
While they were busy going in and out of relationships,
I was busy riding on the preparation ship
When they choose to go on the fast lane,
I was taking my time on the slow train.
They were blossoming with passion,
I was dealing with depression,
They were having so much fun,
I was having absolutely none
They said I was a fool,
But I knew I was in a school,
They said I did not know what I was doing,
But I believed I knew where I was going.
They said I was insane,
They say I don't have a game,
They feel I'm a big shame.


But in my soberness and sorrow,
I was building a better tomorrow
Knowing that through my discipline and pain,
I will eventually have it all to gain,
A better me,
That won't be easily defeated by the enemy,
I am not the boy they used to know,
I am a man, matured and set to show,
I have prepared myself in the valley first,
Now I'm out on the mountain to manifest,
I am now equipped enough,
I am built solid and tough,
I've got heart,
I've got game,
I'm hotter than ever,
I'm stronger than ever,
The new and improved me,
This is my special gift to you and the world.
